În cea de-a doua jumătate a secolului al XX-lea, muzica corală liturgică românească cunoaşte o dezvoltare substanţială. Lucrările de acest gen îmbină armonios atât intonaţii ale melosului de provenienţă psaltică (ca citat sau creaţii în stil psaltic), apuseană gregoriană, dar şi de sorginte populară autohtonă. Obiectivul atenţiei noastre s-a îndreptat spre relevarea trăsăturilor stilistice ale creaţiei corale liturgice contemporane, prezente în creaţiile compozitorilor Tudor Jarda, Liviu Comes şi Valentin Timaru.

In the second half of the 20th century, Romanian choral-liturgical music experienced considerable development. The works of this genre combine harmoniously both intonations of the melos of western Gregorian psaltic origin (as quotation or creations in psaltic style) and those of native folk sources. The object of our attention was directed to revealing the stylistic features of contemporary choral-liturgical creation present in the works of the composers Tudor Jarda, Liviu Comes and Valentin Timaru.
