În componistica naţională contemporană se evidenţiază creaţia compozitorului Igor Iachimciuc. Absolvent al Academiei de Muzică din Chişinău la specialitatea ţambal, iar ulterior, a clasei de compoziţie a profesorului universitar V. Zagorschi, Igor Iachimciuc a explorat ambele sfere de activitate
muzicală, devenind laureat al concursurilor internaţionale de interpretare instrumentală, obţinând premii valoroase şi în domeniul compoziţiei. De asemenea se manifestă şi pe tărâmul pedagogic, fiind profesor de discipline muzical-teoretice la Universitatea din Utah (SUA). Este autor de creaţii vocalsimfonice, orchestrale, camerale, vocal-corale.

The works of composer Igor Iachimciuc stand out in contemporary national composition. Graduate of the Academy of Music from Chisinau as a dulcimer player and later that of the composition class of university professor V. Zagorschi, Igor Iachimciuc explored both these spheres of musical activity becoming laureate of international competitions of instrumental performance and obtaining valuable prizes in the domain of composition. He showed himself in the pedagogical field as well teaching musical-theoretical disciplines sat the University from Utah (USA). He is the author of vocalsymphonic, orchestral, chamber and vocal-choral creations.
