THE PRINCIPAL METHODS AND THEIR APPLICATION IN STUDYING THE FINE ARTS OF THE 1940s-1990s

This article is the continuation of the last one dedicated to aspects of the studying of fine arts of the Republic of Moldova in the social-cultural context of the 1940s-1990th. In the last article were analyzed some methods, which are useful from the historical point of view especially at the start of research and that are suitable for other sciences too. In this article two methods are analyzed, which are useful from the theoretical point of view. These are the iconological and iconographical methods. At the same time, there are demonstrated some examples of their application in the research of the fine arts of the Soviet period.
