Prin Studiile Sonore, Gh. Ciobanu a creat o nouă categorie a genului de studiu muzical, raportată la domeniul muzicii camerale, care reflectă procesele ce se produc în sfera fenomenului „gen muzical” în arta contemporană. Însăși denumirea Studiu Sonor indică spre o nouă viziune în ceea ce privește exploatarea sursei muzicale sonore. Fiecare dintre cele cinci Studii Sonore tind să reflecte fenomene artistice, estetice, stilistice şi tehnologice specifice muzicii contemporane. Totodată, prin ele trece ca un fir roșu o idee fundamentală: cea a contopirii omului cu natura, cosmosul și încercarea de a înțelege rostul lui în această lume și în univers.

Through the Sound Etudes, Ghenadie Ciobanu created a new category of the musical etude genre, related to the field of chamber music, which reflects the processes that occur in the sphere of the „musical genre” in contemporary art. The Sound Etude’s name in itself indicates a new vision of how to exploit the source of musical sound. Each of the five Sound Etudes tends to reflect artistic, aesthetic, stylistic and technical phenomena specific to contemporary music. At the same time, they are united by a fundamental idea — the fusion of man with nature and universe, as well as the attempt of grasping the purpose of man in this world and the universe.
