Prezentul articol, dedicat şcolii franceze de trompetă — una dintre cele mai importante tradiţii de interpretare la instrumente de alamă, urmează istoria de circa 300 de ani a acestei şcoli. In această perioadă se observă evoluţia de a cânta la trompetă, de la instrumentul baroc până la trompeta modernă. Metodele de studiu, elaborate de către artiştii interpreţi din diferite perioade de timp stau la baza acestei dezvoltări. Relaţiile artistice strânse între compozitori, interpreţi şi constructorii de instrumente au îmbogăţit această evoluţie. Astfel, în secolul XXI există un bogat repertoriu, suficient de valoros şi variat pentru a scoate in evidenţă trompeta alături de instrumentele solistice tradiţionale cum ar fi vioara sau flautul. Folosind
tehnici avansate de interpretare în fiecare perioadă de timp instrumentiştii au reuşit să meargă dincolo de limitele impuse, îndemnând astfel compozitori spre îmbogăţirea repertoriului de trompetă şi spre crearea unor adevărate capodopere.

The above article, dedicated to the French school of playing the trumpet, one of the most important traditions of performing on brass instruments, especially, the trumpet, follows the history of this school for over 300 years. During this period, we observe the evolution of playing the trumpet, from the baroque instrument up to the modern trumpet. Indeed, the study methods, worked out by performers from various time periods, stand at the basis of this development. The close artistic relationships between composers, performers and instrument creators enriched this evolution. Thus, in the 21st century we have a large solo repertoire for the trumpet, valuable enough to bring out the trumpet, next to traditional solo instruments, such as the violin or the flute. Using advanced performing techniques, in every time period, the players managed to go beyond the imposed limits, thus urging the composers to enrich the solo repertoire for the trumpet and create real masterpieces.
