In this article the author considers the piano competitive creative work in the Republic of Moldova, the beginning of which comes to the 60s of the
20th century. Some aspects of the creative work of Zagorsky, Lungu, Rotaru, Ciobanu and many other composers who wrote piano miniatures are
analyzed. Their creation was connected with the Republic, Interzonal and International contests. The winners of the given competitions were the first and the most prominent. Performers of compulsory national pieces at the above mentioned piano contests (M. Shramko, Y. Mahovitchi, I. Hatipova, Y. Gubaidulina, S. Philioglo, etc.) are pointed out.
