Romanian musical education is currently in a phase of searching to define it’s profile, a profile representative of the requirements of human society during this period, when the new millennium started. Like any action as remodeling, in view are both – roots and expectations on its various levels: immediate, medium and long-term perspective. Typically, the teaching of this subject in Romanian institutions have academic rank – at the level of the second half of the twentieth century two main lines of presentation material proposed for study: Focusing on portraits of composers and musicians representative; Focusing on a chronological approach to the different genre within defined historical periods. Because the phenomenon is very complex and the approach of the History of Romanian Music has already its proper history, For the future, I propose to change the classes of History of Romanian Music in classes of History of the Romanian Musical Culture, joint the principal aspects of our folk culture and the data of the contemporary musical composition inspired by the Romanian musical folklore.
