This paper approaches a very distinct domain of social imagination – Heaven and Hell as creations about the postexistence of mankind (humanity) – subject which has always been attractive for research, inclusively for Art history. Beyond the similarities regarding the representation of Heaven and Hell in different cultural traditions we were interested in what way these concepts had been visualized in the medieval Moldovan churches. Even infin painting the chapels Moldovan house painters as those from other countries of the Eastern orthodoxy were guided by the Erminea of the Byzantine painting, because they addressed their visual message to a concrete society, to be understood they adjusted the biblical conversations (scenes) to social conditions. This symbiosis of history, tradition and art created masterpieces which entered the worldwide patrimony.
