Studiul refl ectă interdependenţa dintre teatru şi fenomenele social-politice în creaţia regizorilor şi dramaturgilor de teatru documentar, începând cu precursorul genului, teoreticianul şi regizorul Bertolt Brecht, continuând cu Erwin Piscator, primul regizor care introduce documentul în arta spectacolului, şi Peter Weiss, dramaturgia căruia este considerată de critica de specialitate drept clasica teatrului documentar. În ultimele decenii, infl uenţaţi de creatorii europeni, regizorii şi dramaturgii din spaţiul românesc promovează şi practică un teatru documentar inspirat din realităţile socio-politice. În această ordine de idei, relevante sunt volumele de texte documentare „Teatrul politic 2009-2017”, coordonat de Mihaela Michailov şi David Schwartz, şi „Chişinău, 7 aprilie. Teatru-document”, incluzând piese de Irina Nechit, Mihai Fusu, Dumitru Crudu, Constantin Cheianu.

This study reflects the interdependence between the theater and the socio-political phenomena in the creation of documentary theater directors and playwrights, starting with the forerunner of the genre, Bertolt Brecht, theorist and director, continuing with Erwin Piscator, the fi rst director to introduce the document in the performance art and Peter Weiss, whose dramaturgy is considered by specialized criticism as the classic of the documentary theater. In recent decades, infl uenced by European creators, the directors and playwrights in the Romanian space, promote and practice a documentary theater inspired by socio-political realities. In this order of ideas, relevant are the volumes of the documentary texts “Political Theater 2009-2017”, coordinated by Mihaela Michailov and David Schwartz and „Chisinau, April 7. Theater-document”, including plays by Irina Nechit, Mihai Fusu, Dumitru Crudu, Constantin Cheianu.
