Etnomuzicologia autohtonă în perioada postbelică a trecut prin câteva etape distincte, în cadrul cărora sau produs evenimente importante ce vizează salvgardarea, protejarea, cercetarea şi valorificarea folclorului muzical. Au fost editate colecţii de folclor, elaborate metode, realizate cercetări ştiinţifice şi publicate diferite articole, studii şi monografii. Spectrul problematic abordat este divers: de la genuri şi specii ale folclorului muzical,
instrumente muzicale până la elemente de morfologie, limbaj muzical, interpretare tradiţională.

Domestic ethnomusicology during the postwar period went through several distinct stages, marked by the occurrence of important events aimed at safeguarding, protecting, researching and promoting musical folklore. There were edited several collections of folklore; new methods were elaborated along with the advancement of scientific research and the publication of different articles, studies and monographs. The issues addressed were
diverse: from the genres and kinds of folk music, musical instruments to different elements of morphology, musical language and traditional interpretation.
