Giuseppe Tartini este un muzician intrat într-un con de umbră; aportul său în muzica barocă prin cercetările şi tratatele sale, creaţia de sonate şi de concerte pentru vioară sau Academia sa de vioară ce a format violoniştii generaţiilor următoare au fost factorii decisivi pentru evoluţia violonisticii europene. Apartenenţa sa la Doctrina Teoriei Afectelor, abstractizarea melodicii concertelor sale pentru vioară, dezvoltarea tehnicii superioare a mâinii stângi sau modificarea baghetei arcuşului sunt aspecte care astăzi nu prea se mai cunosc. Prin toate acestea Giuseppe Tartini a lăsat o amprentă puternică asupra cântatului la vioară, iar valorificarea completă a moştenirii sale muzicale va contribui la o mai bună înţelegere a evoluţiei artei interpretative şi a expresivităţii muzicale.

Giuseppe Tartini is a musician who has fallen into a shadow; his contribution to Baroque music through his research and treatises, the creation of sonatas and violin concertos or his Violin Academy that trained violinists of the following generations were decisive factors for the evolution of European violin playing. His affiliation to the Doctrine of the Theory of Affects, the abstraction of the melody of his violin concertos, the development of superior left-hand technique – or the modification of the bow stick – are aspects that are not very well known today. Through all this, Giuseppe Tartini left a strong mark on violin playing and the full exploitation of his musical heritage will contribute to a better understanding of the evolution of the interpretative art and musical expressiveness.
