În articol sunt prezentate fapte necunoscute din viaţa şi activitatea lui Constantin Pigrov, dirijor de cor de prestigiu şi primul conducător artistic profesionist al Capelei Corale Moldoveneşti „Doina”. Legate de persecuţiile politice, acestea scot în relief circumstanţele destinului său sinuos în anii 1920 la Odesa, dezvăluie motivele venirii sale în RASS Moldovenească (1930) şi explică plecarea ulterioară din capelă (1938). De asemenea, studierea documentelor de arhivă a făcut posibilă reconstituirea unor anumite detalii legate de activitatea Capelei Corale „Doina” din perioada respectivă, cum ar fi: concretizarea datelor despre componenţa colectivului şi a repertoriului concertistic, caracterizarea şi aprecierile performanţelor artistice ale capelei oferite de către specialişti.

The article reveals previously unknown facts about the life and work of Konstantin Konstantinovich Pigrov, a distinguished choirmaster and the first professional artistic director of the Moldavian Choral Chapel “Doina.” Connected with political persecutions, these facts shed light on the circumstances of his life in Odessa in the 1920s, reveal the motives for his arrival in the Moldavian ASSR (1930), and explain his subsequent departure from the chapel (1938). In addition, the examination of archival documents made it possible to reconstruct the ensemble’s membership and concert repertoire of that period, as well as to characterize the artistic achievements of “Doina” and its evaluation by specialists.
