Articolul examinează rolul montajului cinematografic în procesul de formare a sensului şi în modul în care spectatorul percepe şi interpretează produsul audiovizual. Pornind de la premisa că cinematografia funcţionează ca un sistem semiotic complex, în care imaginea, sunetul şi structura narativă contribuie la construirea mesajului filmic, studiul evidenţiază faptul că montajul depăşeşte funcţia tehnică de asamblare a cadrelor, devenind un instrument esenţial de organizare a realităţii reprezentate. Prin selecţia şi juxtapunerea imaginilor, montajul influenţează direct ritmul, orientând atenţia şi modelând interpretarea narativă şi emoţională a evenimentelor prezentate.

The article examines the role of film editing in the process of meaning-making and in the way the spectator perceives and interprets the audiovisual product. Starting from the premise that cinema functions as a complex semiotic system, where image, sound, and narrative structure contribute to the construction of the filmic message, the study highlights that editing transcends the technical function of assembling shots, becoming an essential tool for organizing represented reality. Through the selection and juxtaposition of images, editing directly influences the rhythm, directing attention and shaping the narrative and emotional interpretation of the presented events.
