Designul vestimentar contemporan valorifică tot mai mult patrimoniul cultural ca sursă de inovare şi de afirmare a identităţii, prin reinterpretarea elementelor etno în contextul tendinţelor globale. În acest proces este esenţială armonizarea creativităţii cu respectul faţă de originea şi semnificaţia culturală a acestor elemente. Prezentul articol analizează conceptualizarea stilului etno şi influenţa acestuia asupra designului vestimentar contemporan, cu accent deosebit pe Republica Moldova. Sunt examinate principalele caracteristici ale stilului etno, precum şi modalităţile de integrare a elementelor etno în creaţiile contemporane. Se concluzionează că reinterpretarea patrimoniului textil reprezintă o strategie importantă pentru conservarea identităţii culturale şi dezvoltarea unui design vestimentar inovator.

Contemporary fashion design has increasingly embraced cultural heritage as a source of innovation and identity, reinterpreting etno elements within the context of global trends. In this process, it is essential to balance creativity with respect for the origin and cultural significance of these elements. This article examines the conceptualization of the ethno style and its influence on contemporary fashion design, with a particular focus on the Republic of Moldova. It analyzes the main characteristics of the ethno style, as well as the ways in which etno elements are integrated into contemporary fashion creations. It is concluded that the reinterpretation of textile heritage represents an important strategy for preserving cultural identity while fostering innovative fashion design.
