THE OPERA CREATION OF COMPOSER NICOLAE BRETAN
Composer N. Bretan is an important representative of the Romanian musical culture who enriched the national vocal repertoire with more than 200 lieder and 5 musical‑theatrical works. Undoubtly, the operas represent the main realization in the creative activity of N.Bretan who is considered the author of the first Romanian opera from Transylvania (Luceafarul) and of the first national‑historical opera (Horia). In the context of the evolution of the national opera N.Bretan’s musical‑theatrical works represent a great historical‑artistic value that contributed to the development of the musical theatre from Transylvania and progress of national composition.
