Acest articol este dedicat analizei minuţioase a partidei eroului Petru Rareş din opera omonimă de E. Caudella. Această operă ocupă un loc important in dezvoltarea teatrului liric naţional, însă în cercetările muzicologice lipseşte o examinare completă a acesteia. În acest articol va fi investigată cât
dramaturgia şi compoziţia, atât şi partida vocală a tenorului. Vor fi cercetate: arii, duete, ansambluri. Mesajul patriotic al operei este redat cu forţă de convingere în amplele scene de masă, în cântecele care exprimă dragostea de libertate a poporului.

The present article is dedicated to a thorough analysis of the leading part from the opera “Petru Rareş” by Eduard Caudella. This opera occupies an important place in the development of the Romanian Lyric Theater, but a comprehensive analysis of musicological literature in the field is missing. Thus, this issue became paramount for the research realized in this article. Here, have been thoroughly reviewed the drama, composition and especially the tenor vocal part, which has several representations: arias, duets, ensembles. The patriotic message of the opera is conveyed with force of conviction in ample mass scenes in the songs that express the people‟s love of freedom.
