În articol se cercetează aspectul pedagogic al creaţiei muzicologice şi componistice a marelui compozitor Gavriil Musicescu. Articolele sale, publicate la sfârşitul secolului XIX în revista „Arta”, reflectă problema studierii şi valorificării folclorului în procesul educaţiei muzicale în şcoala generală.
Această idee este marcată ca una centrală în toată activitatea muzical-pedagogică a lui Gavriil Musicescu.

The paper describes Gavriil Musicescu‟s creation, whose name is associated with the flowering of choral art in the Moldovan music culture. Tested sources can state that, together with his compoition and choral conducting activities, G. Musicescu paid much attention to education and training at school. His articles in the magazine „Arta”, published in the late 19th century, reveals the problem of studying folk
music in the light of the demand for musical education in school and that of identifing the artistic value of folk music. The main idea of his musical and pedagogical creativity is using folklore as the main core of musical education and the promotion of fundamental principles for its implementation in the musicalpedagogical process. Another pedagogical idea of G. Musicescu is associated with the aesthetic education of students by means of choral art, to which the composer dedicated a significant part of his artistic career. The article identified the importance and originality of G. Musicescu‟s pedagogical ideas and stated that the composer, for the first time in the late 19th century, raised the musical training and education in national schools to a qualitatively new level.
