Compozitorul Alexandr Mulear s-a născut la 18 mai 1922 în oraşul ucrainean Savran, regiunea Odessa, şi a decedat la 17 iunie 1994 în Chişinău, Republica Moldova. Pe parcursul vieţii s-a remarcat ca un talentat compozitor şi muzician, un pedagog iscusit, şi, nu în ultimul rând, ca un energic activist cultural. A. Mulear a lăsat moştenire lucrări care reuşesc să se deosebească prin unicitate şi claritate, bazate preponderent pe arta, tezaurul şi melosul popular moldovenesc. Activitatea sa componistică poate fi divizată în trei perioade de creaţie: prima perioadă – anii 1949-1955, a doua perioadă – anii 1956-1970 şi a treia, ultima – din 1971 până la sfârşitul vieţii.

The composer Alexandr Mulear was born on May 18, 1922 in the Ukrainian city of Savran, Odessa region, and died on June 17, 1994 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. Throughout his life he distinguished himself as a talented composer and musician, a skilled pedagogue, and last but not least as an energetic cultural activist. A. Mulear bequeathed works that manage to stand out by their uniqueness and clarity, based mainly on the Moldovan folk art, treasury and folk melodies. His composition activity can be divided into three periods: the first period of musical creativity (1949-1955), the second period (1956-1970), and the third, last period of creativity, from 1971 to the end of ofhis life.
