Unică de felul său, Aleea Savanţilor şi Medicilor Iluştri de la Universitatea de Stat de Medicină şi Farmacie „Nicolae Testemiţanu” din Chişinău a fost inaugurată la 9 octombrie 2015, în prezenţa mai multor personalităţi din domeniul medicinii, culturii şi politicii. Ideea creării acestei alei aparţine rectorului USMF „Nicolae Testemiţanu”, profesorului universitar, academicianului Ion Ababii. Aleea conţine busturile pedagogilor şi medicilor, care, timp de peste 70 de ani, au format, către anul 2015, peste 40 de mii de medici. Diferiţi ca prestanţă artistică, cei 14 sculptori au realizat în total 49 de busturi, lucrând preponderent după fotografiile portretizaţilor, dar şi solicitând părerea apropiaţilor acestora. A fost importantă şi amplasarea armonioasă a busturilor în spaţiul arhitectural, lucru la care a contribuit arhitectul Victor Chiosa.

The unique Alley of Outstanding Scientists and Doctors of the Chişinau State University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Nicolae Testemiţanu” was inaugurated on October 9, 2015, in the presence of numerous personalities from the fields of medicine, culture and politics. The idea for this alley belongs to SUMPH Rector Nicolae Testemiţanu and university professor and academician Ion Ababii. The Alley contains busts of educators and doctors, who, over the course of over 70 years, have shaped the careers of more than 40,000 medical professionals by 2015. Fourteen sculptors, each with a different artistic focus, created a total of 49 busts, working primarily from photographs of the subjects but also consulting with their families. A key aspect was the harmonious arrangement of the busts within the architectural space, facilitated by architect Victor Chiosa.
