În articol este reflectat procesul formării şi dezvoltării artei pianistice în Basarabia la începutul sec. XX. Este analizată activitatea cultural-educativă în regiune, deschiderea primelor şcoli muzicale şi a Conservatorului. Este evidenţiat aportul unor personalităţi cunoscute: V .Gutor, I. Bazilevschi, C. Romanov, V. Onofrei, V. Seroţinschi la desfăşurarea vieţii muzicale în Basarabia. Autoarea examinează de asemenea şi istoria creării primelor lucrări naţionale pentru pian (anii 20–30 ai sec. XX) şi interpretării lor de pianiştii locali.

The study is focused on the process of formation and development of piano art in Bassarabia at the beginning of the 20th century. There is an analysis of the cultural-educational activity in this region and of the history of opening the first musical schools and setting up the Conservatory. The author points out the contribution of such well-known personalities as V. Gutor, I. Bazilevskii, C. Romanov, V. Onofrei, V. Serotsinkii to the process of
organizing the musical life in Bassarabia and considers the history of creating the first national compositions for piano (the 20s-30s of the 20th century) and their interpretation by local pianists.
