Înființarea instituției de învățământ superior Staatliches Bauhaus a constituit un eveniment major în dezvoltarea istoriei și arhitecturii artei moderne, generând întru-un adevărat fenomen cultural-artistic. Această școală și mișcare artistică a devenit în timp unul dintre cele mai importante și inspirate curente ale arhitecturii moderne, mai ales a stilului arhitectural contemporan răspândit la scară internațională.
În acest articol ne-am propus să urmărim traseul devenirii acestei școli, luând în considerație aportul adus de Walter Gropius și Henri van de Velde în acest proces. Conturând caracteristicile stilului Bauhaus, am încercat să vedem cum a influențat acesta asupra stilului arhitectural din alte zone geografice, inclusiv asupra spațiului nostru.

The establishment of the higher education institution Staatliches Bauhaus was a major event in the development of the history and architecture of modern art, generating a true cultural-artistic phenomenon. This school and artistic movement became, in the course of time, one of the most important and inspired currents of modern architecture, especially of the contemporary architectural style widespread on an international scale.
In this article we intend to follow the path of the evolution of this school, taking into account the contribution made by Walter Gropius and Henri van de Velde to this process. Outlining the characteristics of the Bauhaus style, we tried to see how it has influenced the architectural style in other geographical areas, including our space.
