Punerea în scenă a unui text clasic nu doar necesită, dar şi obligă autorii de spectacole la o revizuire, relectură a acestuia, care ar corela sub toate aspectele creaţia lor cu cea a autorilor de texte. Modernitatea textului clasic, însă, deseori nu străbate într-un spectacol modern, deoarece metodele şi criteriile de relectură sunt raportate la propriile lor clişee, iar uneori chiar la clişeele clişeelor, denaturând în acest fel actul teatral în sine. Astăzi autorii de spectacole de multe ori apelează la tot felul de efecte speciale pe care le înghesuie în canoanele unei anumite şcoli sau tehnici teatrale, pretinzând la modernitatea mesajului în timp ce nu fac decât să scoată în evidenţă doar modernitatea mijloacelor de expresie. În această lucrare se încearcă cercetarea şi revizuirea a însuşi metodelor şi criteriilor de relectură a textului clasic.

Staging a classic text not only requires but also obliges the production authors to a text revision and rereading that would consequently link, under all aspects, their creation with the one of the authors`s texts. The modernism of a classic text, however, is often unperceivable in a modern production because the rereading methods and criteria are related to the authors’ own clichés, and sometimes even to the clichés of the clichés, thus distorting the theatrical act itself. Nowadays the production authors frequently use various special effects that they squeeze into the frames of a certain school or theatrical techniques, claiming the modernism of the message while in fact emphasizing just the modernism of the means of expression. The purpose
of this work is the study and revision of the methods and criteria of rereading the classic text.
