Articolul dat are drept obiectiv prezentarea corului de cameră şi rolul său în viaţa muzicală contemporană. Autorul pune în evidenţă mai multe direcţii de afirmare a colectivelor camerale profesioniste, înfăţişând posibilităţile sale artistice şi de creaţie. În cercetarea de faţă, de asemenea, sunt stipulate anumite aspecte care determină orientările şi preocupările fundamentale ale acestora la etapa actuală. Prin exemplele unor colective binecunoscute în lume, corul cameral este apreciat drept o formaţie multifuncţională adaptată la necesităţile timpului.

This article has as objective the presentation of the chamber choir and its role in the musical contemporary life. The author is highlighting many directions of the professional chamber choirs activities and shows its artistic and creative abilities. In the present research, withal, are stipulated certain aspects which determines the fundamental orientations and concernes in the current period. By the exemples of some collectives well known in the world, the chamber choir is characterized as a multifunctional ensemble adapted to the needs of the present time.
