This article contains the analysis of the lyrical-meditative choral miniature Improvizaţie Moldavă. In the above, we identify information about the musical-thematic material of the musical piece, compositional procedures, means of musical expression, the distribution of melodic material between the choral parts, the interpretative aspects and some tendencies of V. Zagorschi to implement polyphonic writing techniques that have their origins far before the 16th century, such as: faux-bourdon, cantusfirmus and gymelus. The preparation for the performance of the mentioned creation on stage brings with it a series of interpretative difficulties identified during the rehearsals with the”Doina” Academic Choir. This article describes both the compositional techniques used by the composer and the procedures for their practical application during the work with the choral collective. We believethat the presented ones will be helpful to choir conductors, but also to choir artists in order to prevent possible obstacles of a technical interpretative nature, since the purpose of each musical creation is to be interpreted in the best light for the audience.
